Cobweb

For the first time, the cobweb appeared in the Classic version of Java Edition, but only as a texture.

The cobweb as a block was added in Beta 1.5. Then it was instantly destroyed, and the String fell out only if you destroy it with a sword. When mining with any other tool, a block of cobwebs fell out. Interestingly, even if only one block of the cobweb is at the player's eye level, after entering it, he will begin to suffocate.

In version 1.7, a String from a cobweb can be extracted with scissors or obtained if the cobweb is blown up.

Already in version 1.8, the cobweb block has added strength. Now it's harder to destroy it. And now you can find it in abandoned mines, fortresses. The choke player property has been removed.

In the official Java Edition, some properties of the cobweb have been changed again. Neutralized the slowing down of the player when moving through the cobweb in the "Creative" mode.

In version 1.4.6, using scissors or a sword with a "Silk Touch" charm, when the cobweb is destroyed, the cobweb block itself falls out.

In version 1.9, the cobweb appears in the basement of the igloo and in the forest mansions. You can get a block of cobwebs without the "Silk Touch" charm, using only scissors. The cobweb no longer detains projectiles thrown into it.

In version 1.19, if you destroy a cobweb block with a sword, then a string falls out. If the sword is enchanted with a "Silk Touch", a block of cobwebs will fall out. When mining with scissors with "Silk Touch" charms or without them, a block of cobwebs will also fall out.

Cobwebs can be found in caves and abandoned mines. Especially large clusters of cobwebs are found near spider spawners. In the libraries of fortresses, zombie villages, there is also a cobweb.

If a player or mobs fall into the cobweb, their speed drops by 85%. If sand or gravel falls on the cobweb block, it will first slowly sink down, and when it reaches the middle, it will fall out.

If you install the cobweb block on the sand shower or ice, then the player's movement speed will decrease by another 2.5 times.

• If you build a cobweb fence in Hell and hide behind it, then Gast will not see the player behind it.
• Cobweb blocks can be used to reduce the level of illumination.
• If the player is being chased by an enemy, cobweb blocks can be put in his way to slow him down.
• When falling or jumping from a height into a Cobweb, it neutralizes the damage, although the sound of hitting the ground will be reproduced. When falling or jumping from a great height onto a spider Cobweb, the player will receive damage equal to the damage of falling 2 blocks.
• Cobweb blocks can be used to simulate smoke from a house chimney.

• The Cobweb does not slow down the speed of the trolley if it moves along the rails.
• Spider cobweb blocks are able to reduce damage from TNT if the player hides behind it or inside the spider Cobweb blocks.
• When exposed to the piston cobweb, it will collapse and the String will fall out.
• The strength of the cobweb is equal to the strength of the block of stone.
• If the player is in the cobweb, he needs more time to destroy the blocks.
• No mechanisms other than a distributor, ejector and music unit can be placed on the Cobweb blocks, and signs and paintings can be placed.
• The cobweb will protect the zombies from catching fire in the sun.
