Iron Horse Armor

• Iron horse armor and other types of armor first appeared in the Official Java Edition in version 1.6.1, in snapshot 13w16a. Then it could be crafted from 6 ingots of iron and one block of wool, and it could be stacked. But already in the snapshot 13w18a the possibility of crafting was removed, and in the snapshot 13w21a it stopped folding into stacks.
• In version 1.9, in the snapshot 15w31a, iron horse armor began to be generated in the chests of the cities of the Region. Changes were also made to the amount of iron horse armor generated in different structures:

15w43a – reduced the chance of generating infernal fortresses in chests.
15w44a – reduced the chance of generating treasure chests.

• Starting from version 1.11.1, iron horse armor can be melted in a furnace and get a piece of iron.

If the player is riding, then you need to press the "E" button to open the horse's inventory. With this inventory, you can put on and take off the saddle and armor.

If the player is next to the horse, then you can put iron armor on it with the right mouse button, holding the armor in your hand.

• A potion with the effect of invisibility will make not only the horse invisible, but also the armor. From the outside, it will seem that the player is traveling "in the air".
• Iron horse armor is slightly worse in characteristics than gold.
• The iron horse armor is a single item, not four assembled together.
• Iron horse armor cannot be crafted.

Iron horse armor doesn't have a crafting recipe.

Iron horse armor cannot be enchanted in survival mode. But you can enchant on the anvil in creative mode.

The strength of diamond armor is only 2.2 times higher than the strength of iron.

Diamond horse armor is considered the best. When worn on a horse, it will add five and a half breastplates to the protection scale. Gold will add three and a half breastplates, iron two and a half, and leather only one and a half.

Diamond horse armor is the rarest type of horse armor that can be found in chests.

In general, horse armor cannot be enchanted in survival mode, but it can be enchanted on an anvil in creative mode. However, any enchantment on the armor will not give the horse any bonus. Therefore, all spells for horse armor are equally ineffective.
