Blast Furnace

Official release of Java Edition (version 1.14, snapshot 18w44a) – blast furnace added to Minecraft. It was available only from the creative mode menu. Starting from Snapshot 18w48a, blast furnace can be found in lowland villages, and from snapshot 18w50a, the blast furnace can be used by the player. In snapshot 19w11a, the blast furnace became armorer's workplace.

The blast furnace in Minecraft is a solid block, has partial transparency (during melting), has a luminosity of 13 and strength of 3.5. It can be mined with any pickaxe, but the fastest way to do it is with a golden pickaxe. It can be stacked in 64 pieces in the inventory cell.

If it is destroyed with a pickaxe, the blast furnace and its contents will fall out. If the other tool – fall out only the content.

Coal, charcoal, a bucket of lava and any other fuel that can be used in a blast furnace.

The blast furnace in Minecraft allows you to melt more parts, tools and armor more efficiently, because it works twice as fast as furnace. Minecraft players who need to melt a lot of ore at a time are strongly recommended to use a blast furnace.

The blast furnace is not intended for roasting the extracted food and for converting wood into coal. The blast furnace can only melt ore and equipment that can be melted down. The speed of ore melting in a melting furnace is 2 times greater than that of a furnace, but the rate of fuel combustion also increases by 2 times.

So, the advantage of a melting furnace over a furnace is only that half as much time is spent on ore processing.

• Collecting roasted resources from a blast furnace, the player will gain less experience than getting them from a furnace
• Blast furnace cannot be pushed with pistons
• Blast furnace have the same resistance to explosions and emit light as conventional furnaces, when they are active, you can only get a melting furnace with a pickaxe

To make a blast furnace in Minecraft, you need the following components:

• iron ingot – 5 pieces
• furnace – 1 piece
• smooth stone – 3 pieces

In the workbench you need to place the furnace in the center. Place three stones in the bottom row, and fill the remaining cells with iron ingots. The blast furnace is ready.

The lighting level of the blast furnace is the same as that of a furnace – 13.

You can change the name on the anvil, or change the customName tag with the /data command.

You can assign the profession of an armorer.

A block of coal is the best universal fuel source in Minecraft. It burns for almost as long as a bucket of lava, but the player can put 64 blocks of coal into the furnace at once at the same time. This allows you to add less fuel, and spend more time on mining and/or crafting.

For 0.8 blocks of coal, you can fry a whole stack of steaks. For ease of use and fuel efficiency, the coal block is recognized as the best fuel source in Minecraft.
